I Ain’t Got Nothin’

This song is about a very young man who grew up all alone: No home, no parents, no mentors and moving from foster to foster. Finally, he is taken in by a Christian family who has done the same with other kids, successfully. They love him, he loves them and he wants to succeed.

About Me

My Background

(My  first  love) :  I  began  my  musical  career  at  the  age  of  13,  playing drums  for  a  country  band  in  Southwest  Florida.    I  played  in  various bands  all  through  high  school  and  into  college.  I  found  some  successes  as  a  musician,  but  not  what  I had  hoped  for.

(My  second  love):  Subsequent  to  being  a  musician  I  went  into  law  enforcement  and  served  over  30  years  as  a  police  officer,  Sheriff,  Police  Chief  and  Magistrate  for  the  criminal  court  system.  Now,  my  wife  (My  forever  love,  Sandi)  and  I  live  south  of  Nashville,  Tennessee.

During  my  law  enforcement career,  I  continued to play  in  some  local  bands  and ,  following  my  retirement I  met  some  great  song writers.  One  of  my  song  writing  mentors,  Jerry  Thomas,  taught  me  how  to  express myself with  words  and  music.  Jerry always said,  “It  all  starts  with  a  song.”  The  thought  of  writing  stuck  with  me  and  now  I  write  at  least  one  song  each  month.

What  sticks  for  me?  When  I  was  a  sheriff in Southwest  Florida  the  local  new  wrote  a  story  about  me  sitting in with  the  band  at  ‘Cinco  de  Mayo’  celebration  and  called  me  a  ’Crooner’.  It  was  one  of  the  few  things  they  ever  got  right….I  really  enjoy a  beautiful love  song  and  I  really  enjoy  writing  songs  about  the  Caribbean .  I  love  the  sun,  the  beaches,  fishing  and  the  local  people.

I  am  currently accepting offers  to  perform in  restaurant’s,  coffee  shops,  wedding’s  and other  small  venue jobs.  I  am  all  about  hearing the music  and the words  to  the  songs.  And  right  now,  my  focus  is  on  Artist  hearing  my  songs  and  perhaps  recording  one  or  two  or  3,4,  lol

My Hobbies

My  number  one  hobby  is  spending time  with  my  children and grandchildren.  Even  when  it’s  only  on  the  phone,  it’s  a  joy  to  hear  what  they  are  doing  and  what  they  think  is  important.  It’s  also  very  important they  know  who  their  grandparents are.  You  never  know  who  you  truly  are  until  you  know  where  you  came  from!   By  the  way,  our  youngest  grandson  recently won  a  song/Lyrics  writing contest  at  his  middle  school.  The  fruit  fell  close  to  the  tree.

Other  hobbies  include  playing golf ,  watching  college  football  and  basketball  and  traveling  to  different places.

My Favorite Things

My  favorite  thing  is  playing music.  I  have  a  music  studio  upstairs  and  spend  a  few  hours  each  day  in  it.  My  wife  is  also  a  singer  and  often  we  spend  time  together singing  and  recording.  It’s  just  plain  fun.  I  also  enjoy  playing  new  instruments,  something I  have  not  touched  before.
